Welcome to Community House Church

Community House Church of Washington, DC is a lay-led congregation without any official affiliation with any denomination. Founded in the 1970s, we originally met in houses but now rent space on Sunday mornings from Mary’s Center in the Adams Morgan neighborhood.

We come from a variety of Christian traditions, with regular attenders who span Mennonite/Anabaptist, Catholic, Episcopalian, Methodist, and other backgrounds. We believe in non-violence and are informal, non-dogmatic, family friendly, and love four-part a cappella singing. We welcome all of any race, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

We ordinarily meet the first three Sundays of every month at 10am — but not on the fourth Sunday. However, this can change, especially on the month of Easter, so please see the Worship Schedule for more details.

Also important to the life of the church are small group meetings. Ask a regular attender after a Sunday worship for information if you want to join a small group.
