Community House Church of Washington DC is a lay-led congregation without any official affiliation with any denomination. Founded in the 1970s, the church originally met in houses, but now we rent space on Sunday mornings from Mary’s Center, in the Adams Morgan neighborhood. We come from many Christian traditions, but most of us come from the Mennonite tradition and most are pacifists. We are informal, non-dogmatic, family friendly, and love four-part a cappella singing. We welcome all of any race or sexual orientation. We ordinarily meet the first three Sundays of every month at 10am — but not on the fourth Sunday. However, sometimes when there’s a fifth Sunday in a month we’ll have a retreat weekend. Also important to the life of the church are small group meetings. Ask a regular attender after a Sunday worship for information if you want to join a small group.
